AI Badge setup guide
How to choose which images on your website get a verification badge.
How image selection works
The AI Badge script uses a CSS selector to know which images to check for AI disclosure. You define this selector when generating your embed code in the NotarAI dashboard. The script only processes images that match your selector — all other images on the page are ignored.
Below are ready-made selectors for common platforms. Use these as-is or adjust them to match your site's structure.
Platform-specific selectors
WordPress
.entry-content img, .post-content imgTarget images inside article content. Add your theme’s content wrapper class for precision.
Shopify
.product__media img, .article__content imgUse Shopify’s built-in classes for product images and blog content.
Webflow / Wix / Squarespace
.blog-post img, .product-image imgCheck your template’s image container class in the page builder.
Custom HTML
img[data-notarai-scan]Add data-notarai-scan to individual images for explicit opt-in. Most precise approach.
How to find the right selector
- Open your website in Chrome or Firefox
- Right-click an image you want to badge → Inspect
- Look at the classes on the
<img>tag or its parent container - Build a selector that targets those images (e.g.
.article-hero img) - Paste it into the embed code generator on your dashboard and test
When you replace an already-listed image with a new file, add a cache-busting query string (e.g. image.jpg?v=2) so the badge script re-checks it immediately.
Next steps
Once you have your selector, go to Settings → AI Badge to generate your embed code. The dashboard shows a live match count so you can verify your selector works before adding the script to your site.
